This project aims, within the item « Chaire junior interne », at giving a strong impulse to the research on random matrix theory (RMT) and its applications, around Pierpaolo VIVO, who has been hired in October 2011 as a CNRS (CR 2) researcher at LPTMS. P. Vivo is indeed a specialist in RMT, which is currently a rapidly evolving subject, to which the members of our teams have significantly contributed, in particular in   its applications to non-equilibrium growth processes and related disordered system and to information theory (quantum entanglement and wireless communications). The goal of our proposal is thus to take the opportunity of P. Vivo’s recent recruitment in Orsay to reinforce and enlarge the field of applications of RMT in our team, which will also benefit from the expertise and guidance of our senior collaborator Satya N. Majumdar from LPTMS. Therefore we mainly ask fundings, for two years, for travel expenses: both for our visitors and collaborators in Orsay and for the members of this project to visit their collaborators and to attend international conferences or workshops, where they will  present their results to a broader audience.
